ABOUT STRIDE

The STRIDE Fund, introduced by the Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC), supports industry players in strengthening their sustainability practices and achieving their ESG goals through access to local sustainability talent and expert consultancy.

Company
Eligibility Criteria
Companies who wish to apply for the incentive shall meet the following criteria:
  1. Only MRC members, with genuine interest in embedding sustainability practices and complying with ESG requirements, are eligible to participate in this programme.
SUPPORT
PACKAGE OFFERED

Under the STRIDE Fund initiative, participating companies will receive an exclusive sustainability support package designed to accelerate their sustainability transformation. This comprehensive assistance includes :

  1. 24-month salary incentive for new hiring or existing dedicated officer within the organisation, holding the position of a Sustainability / ESG Officer to lead and implement the company’s sustainability initiatives.

  2. 24-month sustainability consultancy service, offering expert, hands-on guidance to enhance ESG performance, strengthen compliance with national and international standards, and build long-term business resilience.

This integrated approach empowers companies to strengthen internal capacity while receiving professional support to meet global sustainability expectations and boost market competitiveness.


FINANCIAL SUPPORT PROVIDED

Each selected company will enjoy the following support:

This combined support, valued at up to RM116,400, is fully funded by the Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) to help participating companies strengthen their sustainability foundation with expert guidance and dedicated resources.

REQUIREMENT FROM
PARTICIPATING COMPANIES


  1. Commit to the full 24-month program duration.
  2. Actively engage with consultants and follow through with action plans.
  3. Providing necessary information and resources to implement recommended sustainability initiatives.
  4. Provide updates and basic ESG reporting on progress.
  5. Retain the Sustainability / ESG Officer throughout the incentive period .



THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUSTAINABILITY / ESG OFFICER

Each participating company is eligible to claim RM850 per month for the officer, for up to 24 months (a total of RM20,400 throughout the programme). To receive the incentive, companies must:

  1. Align company practices with ESG goals.
  2. Develop sustainability action plans.
  3. Monitor environmental footprints.
  4. Ensure social compliance and governance reporting.

APPLICATION

THE PARTICIPATING COMPANIES

Each participating company is eligible to claim RM850 per month for the officer, for up to 24 months (a total of RM20,400 throughout the programme). To receive the incentive, companies must:


  1. Submit a mandatory progress report every 6 months, detailing the officer’s activities, responsibilities, and progress made under the sustainability programme.
  2. Submit timely claims through the STRIDE online system, together with supporting documents such as the Letter of Appointment, salary slips, and other related documents.

The payment will be disbursed upon verification and approval of the submitted report and documentation.

THE SUSTAINABILITY / ESG OFFICER
RECRUITMENT PROCESS

MRC will not be involved in the recruitment and employment process of Sustainability / ESG Officer (SO). However, participating companies are strongly encouraged to hire candidates with relevant knowledge or background in three key pillars:


  1. Environmental Sustainability
  2. Social and Labour Compliance, and
  3. Governance and Reporting.
