EPF Warns Massive Withdrawal Will Affect Country’s Markets

The Employees Provident Fund has warned that any erosion of trust towards the agency might cause a massive withdrawal that will negatively impact capital markets in the country, after noting that more than RM270 billion in savings can be withdrawn at any time by its members who have reached above age 55 or 60, or those who have more than RM1 million in their account.
The Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC), formerly known as Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council, was incorporated on 14 April 2000 under the Companies Act 1965 as a company limited by guarantee under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC).
MRC is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities.
MRC is tasked with undertaking market promotion of quality Malaysian rubber and rubber products in world markets. MRC has overseas offices in the US, China, India, Europe and the Middle East.
MRC Presented Contributions Worth RM35,000 To Underprivileged Communities From Rubber Smallholders Family In Kelantan
Following the news coverage on Zawawi and Hakimi published on 9 Dec 2021 and 21 Jan 2022, MRC CEO, Nor Hizwan Ahmad presented contributions worth RM35,000 under Bantuan Prihatin MRC initiative to the underprivileged communities from the rubber smallholders family in Kelantan.
The assistance comprises essential daily necessities, financial aids and devices to facilitate online learning were presented during a ceremony in Pasir Mas, Kelantan on 13 Feb 2022.
Nor Hizwan also handed over food baskets to six less fortunate rubber smallholder families in Bachok, Kelantan. They were among 200 rubber smallholder families who received food basket donations worth RM20,000 from MRC.
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia(UTM) team led by Ts. ChM. Dr. Faizuan Abdullah, Senior Lecturer Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science paid a courtesy visit to MRC today. During the visit, our Deputy CEO discussing on the potential future collaboration with UTM including research & development and innovation in rubber products.
