LCTR
THE LOW CARBON TRANSITION ROADMAP FOR MALAYSIAN RUBBER AND RUBBER PRODUCT MANUFACTURERS
The Low Carbon Transition Roadmap for Malaysian Rubber and Rubber Product Manufacturers (LCTR) was co-developed by the Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) and the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), to guide the rubber industry towards structured emissions reduction and sustainable manufacturing practices.
Aligned with Malaysia’s Net Zero by 2050 ambition, the roadmap supports national industrial and agribusiness priorities under the National Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) and the National Agricommodity Policy 2021–2030 (NAP 2021–2030). It responds directly to rising ESG expectations, tighter trade requirements, and increasing pressure from global buyers.
The LCTR has the following objective:
- Provides a practical, industry-specific framework to measure, manage, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions
- Supports competitiveness, protects export market access, and prepares businesses for a low-carbon economy
